SummaryThis project "Intercultural Capacity for better Social-economical responses" focuses above all in immigrants youth workers, coming from PRSD and ASDA organizations that are working with immigrants on intercultural and social problems at local levels from Almada and Helsinki and at same time giving crucial contributions to the immigrants organizations and youth associations by improving organizational skills and their knowledge and attitudes in working with multicultural and intercultural groups and planning to organize great mobility projects on promotion of intercultural and social-economical competencies among immigrant youth workers.
This training mobility project will support competence in the context of vocational training on social-economical responsibility and intercultural skills for social-economical responses to the immigrant communities in disadvantage situation, produce system that offers intercultural and social-economical training tailored to more attractive to civil society while increasing the mobility of the labour-force, stimulate immigrant youth workers to reflect on the essential characteristics of European society and, above all, encourage them to play an active role in their communities, provide greater support for various forms of intercultural learning to participate "through non formal education and prevent immigrant youth workers from having effective access to formal and non-formal education, transnational mobility, social and intercultural competencies.
This project will be divided into 3 fundamental axes, such the importance of intercultural competencies of youth immigrants workers to increase the social-economical responses in their residence countries, competencies of youth immigrants workers on multicultural, intercultural learning in the immigrants communities and social neighborhoods and participation and knowledge on social-economical development of immigrants community based in both countries by providing social assistances. It will be developed in 2 stages where the first training in Almada from 7th to 12th of October 2018 and the second training in Helsinki from 11th to 16th of November 2018.
In this mobility project we aims create synergies between the partners of best immigrants integration practices and ideas between youth workers and enhance the interest in intercultural learning and social-economical development and to empower youth workers through non-formal education tools to become better agents of social-economical responses. We defined as specific objectives, develop essential intercultural and social competencies to work with immigrant groups and way to provide a better social-economical answers and support to the community in disadvantage situation, to reduce the bad stigmatization related with immigrants and refugees that both countries have and will receive, to increase knowledge about the intercultural context of the social-economical responsibility and immigrants integration in European Youth Cooperation context, adding the availability among youth workers to work within local communities, to make 16 youth workers well prepared and gain confidence about integration and provide bases to approach and initiate a dialogue about poverty and social-economical exclusion problems among immigrants and refugees, by motivation and awareness about values underpinning non-formal education and socialeconomical responsibility, to increase the youth workers participant's motivation to introduce into intercultural learning and social answers by creating conditions to support them to engage others, serving as ambassadors of understanding of social, cultural and economical difference between the partner countries.
We expected to have impact on supporting initiatives of immigrant youth workers and their organisations with regard to human values and social-economical responsibility, as well intercultural learning, including immigrants and social-economical responses dimensions, promoting and supporting the role of immigrant youth workers in social-economical responsibility and capacity-building activities that contribute to living together in dignity and dialogue through a network of specifically sharing experience of youth workers who strengthen the presence and promote the values of diversity in the community.
In a long term perspectives, will potentially benefits in increasing values of social-economical responsibility and intercultural skills for community development among immigrant communities, supporting network for immigrant youth workers in order to achieve reasonable minimum living conditions and their possible application in practical life and create space for immigrant youth workers and organizations share and build joint projects for the benefits of immigrants.
Priorities will be given to:
- African Diaspora Youth workers and leaders.
- Young people with few opportunities from african diaspora community in Portugal.
- Young immigrants and descendants of Immigrants living in Portugal.
- Professional Youth Africans and students with economical and social problems.
Accommodation: The accommodation during the meeting can be in twin (double) triple or forth rooms (meaning: share a room with a person from the same sex) in the youth’s lodging.
Language: The work language will be English. The trainers and facilitators will ensure the translations between English and other languages (such French and Portuguese), in case it is nececessary.
Financial Condition: Taking in consideration that this project will focus in the youth with few opportunities that live with critical financial conditions, the organizers will work to provide conditions to reduce the cost for participants, like:
